Nutritional Tools
NUTPLAN is a software for the creation of Serbian Food Composition Data Base (FCDB). Software for individual and group nutritional planing, NUTPLAN has been succefully introduced and used in the Balkan region. This software has FCD base with up to 46 nutrients and wide applications such as the possibility of changing nutrients in existing foods, adding new foods with contents of nutritive elements, recipe calculation and diet planning. Our objective was to develop the electronic and online national food data base according to the recommendations by using NUTPLAN software. The following new applications of NUTPLAN software have been designed and accomplished: •Electronic Food data base structure projection and food data base forming •Creation of the search module in the food data base •Developing the module for data entering and correction •Creation of reference and FCDB source for each nutrient •Developing the module for description of the source of each nutrient value (bibliography, analytical laboratories, food industry and other) •Initiation of national FCDB online application. Our future plan is to continue with adaptation of NUTPLAN software under further recommendations with the possibility to create multilingual software translated to regional languages.
Nutri-RecQuest web based tool was developed in 2008-2009 by Wageningen University, The Netherlands and Institute of Medical Research, Belgrade, Serbia as part of EURRECA (European micronutrient Recommedation Aligned). EURRECA’s web-based tool gives access to the existing micronutrient recommendations published in Europe and in other key non-European countries.
